Almost Normal

The quiz almost returned to normal last Monday, although we were missing our team-member John, who wasn't feeling well. He was replaced by the gracious Liz, who steps in most of the times we ask her to. There weren't quite as many teams as usual, but enough to make a decent show. Despite Liz being prepared to help us out, we were not quite good enough to defeat our eternal rivals this week, now back at full-strength after having only one player the week before. The quiz was as good and enjoyable as it had been the last time Laura and Yvonne did it, and a good time was had by all, I think, though there is still one brave team who keep turning up, despite getting thumped on a regular basis.

No thoughts as yet about the Portsmouth - Charlton game tomorrow, beyond remarking that last time out Charlton's opponents had a new manager in charge (Man C.'s Stuart Pearce), and now tomorrow's do too, Alain Perrin, whom, I have to confess, I had not previously heard of.
